A Very Merry New Year!

It's a new year and it promises to be a busy one! We're quite pleased at the number of recent projects that will keep us busy for a while! We're happy to be currently working on new websites for MOSAIC, Western Canada Wilderness Committee, Granville Island and Coastal Jazz, including the new TD Canada Trust Vancouver Jazz Festival. Plus, we're working on some new campaigns for Living Ocean Society, Sierra Club and the David Suzuki Foundation. All in all some really exciting work. It gives me a lot of gratitude to be working with clients of this calibre!

Innovative Mapping Widget

As a new part of the Vision Vancouver website, we've launched a really cool new web widget developed by Biro Creative. It was Communicopia's idea to have this neat way of putting people on the map of Vancouve with their issues. It's well worth checking out and add your name! See it here.

ImagineNative 2008 Film Festival

I just got back from Imaginenative in Toronto, which is an Indigenous film festival. I was giving a talk onImaginenative Logo a panel for Alternative distribution of films. It was a really great talk and Zacharias Kunuk and Norman Kohn from Isuma were also on the panel along with Caroline Habib and Shane Smith from Skyfax. Eileen Arandiga, CFC was our moderator, although she struggled in keeping Norman from dominating the entire panel. Still, it was full of interesting ideas and thoughts around on alternative distribution. My take is that the reality of online distribution is that there is zero money available, and the best use of it right now is figuring out the right promotional strategy. More to come on this in my blog.

Vision Vancouver Website Launches

Vision HomepageWe've been building the new Vision Vancouver website and it launched today! It's been a great project anchored by the great strategy and design team at Communicopia and the internal team at Vision Vancouver. It's really building on the way Barack Obama has positioned his web strategy, although the Obama team has 75 people working full time on their site!! Anyway, this project has some fundraising integration with a lot of pretty heavy duty firepower in the background. We'll also be launching a really great web app shortly.  Check out the website here.
