Uninterrupted

UNINTERRUPTED is a cinematic summer art installation that has transformed Vancouver’s Cambie Bridge into a wild B.C. river – immersing audiences in the incredible journey of migrating sockeye salmon. Breathtaking cinematography from three B.C. rivers was digitally mapped and is projected on the underside of the bridge, along with an ambient, original soundtrack. The 25-minute screening ran June 28th – Sept 24th, 2017.

Agentic was the interacive producer of the digital components of the installation. Along with the Uninterrupted producer team, we built, and with the tremendous work of Denman Digital, the website and an accompanying interactive experience. Through the website, which first and foremost had to get people to go to the show, people also had a chance to experience not only an online scenario, but could learn about upcoming events that one could volunteer or participate. The key for us was creating a “virtuous circle” that would encourage people once they had seen the show to get involved. We used a series of behavioural triggers to encourage people to participate.

Projection on the site

One aspect that was a lot of fun was including the people that had participated in the virtuous circle in the actual installation. Everyone that participates in an event or volunteers has their name projected nightly at the installation.
